A postdoctoral position is available in the Milner lab at the Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) in La Jolla, California, to work on vascular remodeling and blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity in inflammatory demyelinating disease. The research will focus on the roles of specific extracellular matrix (ECM) receptors (integrins) to either promote vascular remodeling or stabilize BBB integrity. This study will employ the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) mouse model of multiple sclerosis and will include the use of several endothelial-specific integrin-deficient transgenic mouse strains to define the roles of these integrins in regulating BBB integrity, vascular remodeling, vascular inflammation and activation of endothelial signaling pathways.

The ideal candidates should have experience with the mouse EAE model and with standard genotyping and immuno-histochemical techniques. The position can begin as early as this May. Interested candidates should send a CV and a list of three potential referees to Dr. Richard Milner, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Our new Visual Science and Optometry department in Bar Ilan is seeking highly motivated individuals for post-doc, PhD and MSc studies, to involve in exciting research in visual sciences from brain and cognition mechanisms supporting visual perception, to retinal research. Our research involves multiple research techniques [as human brain imaging (MRI, fMRI, and EEG), eye movement analyses, perceptual training techniques, visual and neuropsychological examinations, retinal implants, in-vitro electrophysiology, patch-clamp, calcium imaging, neural stem cell facility, and virtual reality]. We study normal and atypical vision (developmental or acquired cases) across the lifespan, including acquired but also developmental cases of visual perception deficits. We also investigate how visual correction paradigms influence visual functions in deficient vision conditions.

Enthusiastic candidates with backgrounds in neuroimaging, cognitive or computational neuroscience, optometry, psychology, computer science, mathematics, engineering or physics, with excellent collaboration skills, capable of initiating and leading novel research projects are encouraged to contact us (see below).

The PhD/post-doc work would require experience and good programming skills (as in Matlab, C/C++), strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficient knowledge of English.

Preference will be given to candidates with strong neuroimaging, computational, or quantitative background. However, applicants with strong background in related disciplines of cognitive neuroscience are welcome to apply.

Please email your CV. PhD and post-doc applicants should also include a statement of research interests, and two letters of recommendation from academic references sent directly to us.

Neuroimaging Data Analysis

Purpose of Position: The Educational Neuroimaging Center (ENIC) in the Technion is soliciting applications for a postdoctoral fellow position. ENIC focuses on revealing the neural circuits related to Literacy, Language and Reading in healthy developing children as well as in atypical developing children. We use neuroimaging tools such as functional and structural MRI, EEG, tDCS, and eye trackers to improve evaluation and treatment for children with language, literacy and reading difficulties, as well as developing new interventions, assessment tools and devices for this population.

Come join our team!

Current projects represent collaborations with Children’s hospitals in Israel and the US and focus on the fundamental of language, literacy and reading acquisitions and plasticity in healthy children and atypical developing children (illiterate children, children with dyslexia, with ADHD, with Epilepsy, with Psychiatric disorders and more).

We seek a motivated individual to assist and lead in all aspects of the research process including conducting research and clinical trials, analysis of behavioral, fMRI, sMRI, EEG. Eye-tracking and tDCS data, participation in the development of articles for publication, grant writing, and the mentoring and supervision of students and research assistants.
